My little corner of my own site

While faster to catch onto the geologically long-term impact of things than most, I tend to miss details along the way. Like shaving.

And yet, I rarely miss the opportunity for a good rant. In fact, I rarely miss non-opportunities for bad rants. I rant. I ranted before I had words to rant. I rant to my poor wife and adorably confused dog. I rant to my friends. To my parents. To the television. To anybody who will listen. And when I’m in a real ranting mood, I have a subtle way of jumping up and down, screaming, and making you listen. Or at least look at me. Depending on the subject matter of the rant, I can make you laugh, cry, or walk away shaking your head and clutching your children close.

Were I able to contain this – uh – skill, focus it, distill out the anger and personal bias, scrub away that day’s coffee stain and get it to you on time, with even semi-reliable frequency, I might have myself a business blog.

I can’t do it. I can’t come close to doing it. So I won’t do it, and I won’t beg you to watch me try.

That said, the rants — they need a place to go. My beautiful, saintly wife would never admit she’s pondering an secret extra dose of Lexapro in the coffee grounds. And though I build killer Web sites to pay the bills, I’d be lying if I told you I had anything to share in that arena that couldn’t already be found with the proper wink-gesture combination into your Google Goggles. Or a Bing search. Whatever.

To make matters worse, a good bit of my expertise resides in the area of search motor keywordification, Interweb magicmaking, and general i-e-o-u-tronical interaction. So, even my banal observations on how to do what Google tells you to do are typically translated from e-sandscrit and infografic’ed well before I can chime in at, say, 6am EST on any given day. Possibly the final nail in the coffin has been the rise of social media which, in all it’s Arab Springly wonder, . . . .

I guess what I’m trying to say is that even a half-assed blog about search marketing and “interactive consulting” is bullshit at least twice a day. Think about it čśë

Besides, I don’t do that stuff no more. I mean, if you are determined to pay for my opinion, by all means click here (link to come). ┬áBut maybe don’t hang around here too much. Unless you are cool with, well, I guess we’ll see.
